We are excited to finally be able to announce that D&R Sewing Center will soon be taken over by its new owners Johnny and Donna Bryant.
From the bottom of our hearts we are greatful for the 40 plus years of loyalty you have given D&R. Throughout this time we have made the most amazing friiends who now feel like family.
The current D&R staff including Dave, Pam, Shirley and Ed will remain employees for some time and be a part of the transition.
Johnny and Donna are bringing many years of experience in the sewing machine business and they will continue to be Brother and Janome Dealers. They are looking forward to bringing new and exciting ideas to customers as well as continuing to honor existing warranties and offer the services we have always provided.
ABC Sewing Center was opened in 1949 by Tommy & Rose Hiorns in their home and was moved to their Atlantic Blvd location soon after. Their daughter Pam began working with them at an early age learning the sewing machine business. Upon their retirement, Pam continued to keep the ABC Sewing Center going.
For 20 years, Dave Howell worked for the Singer Sewing Machine Industry and in 1982 D&R Sew & Vac was opened at the San Jose location.
In 1996 Dave & Pam married and continued to keep both stores open to service the needs of the community.
In 2018, they decided to merge their businesses and become known as D&R Sewing Center and remains at the 9850 San Jose Blvd location.
